Teacher Resources
Field Trips
The Bahamas National Trust has a variety of resources and programs available for teachers that tie in with the Science and Social Studies curriculums of the Ministry of Education. These resources and programs can complement class lectures and provide visuals and tools to aid students in grasping a concept. A class field trip to the BNT for one of our programs adds variety and a break from the regular classroom routine.

Teacher Workshops
Our workshops are designed to motivate, educate and inspire teachers to incorporate quality environmental education into their instruction. Not only are these workshops an opportunity for teachers to interact and exchange ideas with other educators, participants are also introduced to a variety of hands-on activities, given field experiences and environmental education resources. All of our workshops are endorsed by the Bahamas Ministry of Education.
Environmental Education Resources
A large section of our Library is dedicated to environmental education. We house a number of manuals and lesson plans with environmental and natural resource themes that are classroom ready. These lessons allow teachers to integrate environmental education into core subjects such as Language Arts, Arts and Crafts, Literature, Social Studies and more. Activities are available for grades K-12.
Fact Sheets
Several series of fact sheets are available. The series includes endangered species, ecosystems of The Bahamas and Bahamas National Parks.
Posters and Illustrations
Among the posters available at the Trust is one entitled National Parks - National Treasures, a poster produced by the Bahamas National Trust featuring the 12 of the National Parks found throughout The Bahamas. Photographs of Bahamian wildlife are available for $1.00.
